Sean Della Croce Signs Exclusive Agreement with Pasadena Records
When singer/songwriter Sean Della Croce was asked by Bob Divney of Pasadena Records to join their roster of select artists recently, it came out of the blue. Although the Nashville native had grown up close to the musicians and the culture of Music City and had already self-released an EP on her own, On The Line, she was surprised at the sudden outpouring of interest from the Southern California-based start-up label for her new material.
Della Croce is the third generation of her family with the music business in her blood, growing up around such influential artists as Vince Gill, John Oates, Ralph Stanley, The Beach Boys and LeAnn Rimes. Such familiarity enabled her to absorb a wide-range of song craft and musical styles without being swept up by the larger-than-life personalities.
“I am so excited to join forces with the whole team at Pasadena Records,” Sean confirms. “The new album is very close to my heart, and I feel confident that Bob and his team are going to take it to the next level. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together, and I’m honored to have this opportunity to work with professionals for whom I have so much respect.”
The feeling is mutual, according to Divney. “There have been a few instances in my career when listening to a song or a collection of songs reveals a talent for songwriting so immense that I cannot contain myself or my desire to immerse myself so completely in the music. That has been the case with Sean Della Croce. The sublime vocal performances and the artful lyrical turn of phrases is what makes Sean’s forthcoming album, Illuminations, great art. Songs like ‘Then, Now’, ‘Monument’, ‘Rebecca Henry’ and the title track ‘Illuminations’ reveal a craft so subtle that it’s hard to believe this is Sean’s first studio album. Careers in music are made from capsules of time and place, and I have no doubt these songs will mark this time when Sean’s music will become part of the greater culture.”
Illuminations is a blend of folk wisdom with Americana heart and a truly alternative soul. The record is rooted first and foremost in Della Croce’s poetic lyrics — the 12-track album is comprised entirely of original songs. Della Croce plays guitar on the album as well.
The first single from Illuminations is "Rebecca Henry" and will be available everywhere on October 30, 2020. Della Croce's debut album Illuminations is set for release on February 26, 2021, proudly on Pasadena Records!
